SMD LED downlights AND COB LED downlights

SMD LED downlights AND COB LED downlights

COB VS SMD

1: What is it COB led light advantage:

- Produce a narrower and more focused beam than the SMD, projecting light onto the object more efficiently
- Can reach higher light levels on the surface
- gives very little heat
- Longer life than conventional LEDs
- Best suited for gimbal applications (adjustable)
- Produces a halogen-type light, which is an undeniable plus
Because of their narrower beam angle and ability to better illuminate, COB LEDs are best suited for installations above kitchen benches, dining tables, desks, and study rooms. They are also much more efficient than CMS when used in garden (adjustable) applications, where the downlight angle is focused toward an object (such as an image or paint).

2: What is it SMD led downlight advantage:

- Produce a beam wider than the COB
- Reduces glare and shadows
- gives very little heat
- More compact than conventional LEDs - some are available with very low ceiling depth
- Offers a thinner, more uniform appearance with frosted covers - you do not see the internal components
Thanks to their wide beam angle, SMD LEDs are more suitable for more open spaces such as living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, laundries, where a minimum of shading is required.

WHAT IS BETTER - COB OR SMDS?

It all depends on your application. If you are looking for variable color indoor and/or outdoor accent lighting, you will need SMD LEDs. If you want to get the most lumens per Watt for a monochrome light (such as a fog light, a headlight or a dome light), you can see the options available in the COB LEDs.
